Love is in the air……

Soooo……its Valentine’s Day. I’m sure all of the loving couples out there are busy celebrating their love for each other…..or not. Anyways, I was browsing through the internet and I found so many stuffs on valentine’s day. There are so many gift ideas, tips on how to treat your partner on v-day, how to have the perfect valentine, and so much more. Apparently, there are a lot of people out there who put so much effort to celebrate valentines….which is great!

I have also just found out that there is a new movie by Warner Bros. that just came out a few days ago, Valentine’s Day. The movie is starred by Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Patrick Dempsey *faints*, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher *drools*, and a long line of other actors. The movie is about the different love stories of a group of Los Angelinos during valentine’s day. Truthfully, I am so very excited about this movie…and is hoping to watch it soon!

Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Guess what?!

It’s Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day! So Happy Chinese New Year to all of you and may this Tiger year brings success and happiness… And Happy Valentine’s Day and may your day be filled with love and laughter

So……my dad came to visit me in KL for a few days, and I decided to follow him back to my country. Last night, my dad and I were having a drink at Dome in KLIA while waiting to board our plane….and we could hear the loud drums of the lion dance coming from the distance. There was a lion dance show right in the middle of the KLIA terminal!!! I didn’t have the chance to take any pictures because I left my camera back at my apartment…silly me. The festive spirit of Chinese New Year is clearly in the KLIA-air. The lion dancers went around the terminal and they were giving out ‘ang pow’ (red packets) to the kids. It was pretty exciting to see all this…and all the passengers who just arrived or waiting to board their plane were also excited to see the lion dancers. It was a pretty awesome sight!

So now, I am back in my hometown. It’s midnight and its already Valentine’s day. I don’t have any plans for anything yet…but, after being away from home for almost a year, I think I might just hang out with my family at home for the next few days. There are so many changes since the last time I was here….especially at home. While I was away….my house was under renovation and I came home to find a bigger house with more rooms and living rooms. I swear I could just get lost in my own house!! Well….actually, I did get lost hehehe….

Well…..my sisters just got back from a barbeque and my cousins are sleeping over. So..I’m going off now and I will blog again tomorrow.

What’s up with ‘blogging’?

Hey beautiful blog readers!

As I have mentioned in my previous post, I am very new with blogging. This would be my second post for this blog…..yes, I am that new. Anyways, as a first time blogger, I am still learning the what’s, the why’s and the how’s of blogging. Before venturing into the world of blogging, I have done some prior readings on blogging….and so far, this is what I understand of blogging.

Once again, I am very very new…so just bare with me.

What is blogging?

Okay….remember back in the days when we have diaries or journals where we write all of our thoughts, ideas and even pour our hearts out? Well, in a way, blogging is also something like that. The only difference is that blogging is done on the web, or online…which explains the word ‘blog’, which comes from ‘web blog’. Makes sense really…

Unlike the old-school diary or journal, a blog contains regular ‘entries’ which are beautifully archived according to the date they were published, and can also be tagged according to categories for easy search online. Ahhhhh…..the beauty of technology and the internet. And believe it or not, there are millions of blogs on the internet! (Apparently….blogging is really easy…ehhh *shrugs*)

With all the advanced development of computer technology, and daily access to the internet….we are able to create different types of blogs that not only have different types of contents, but also, different ways of delivering the contents.

Blog type #1: Personal blogs.

This is the common type of blog……an ongoing diary which may have a sentimental value to the owner. A personal blog can become more than just a blog…its a way to voice out your thoughts and feelings, and at the same time communicate them to others. Some say blogs can become works of art…interestinnnggg

Blog type #2: Business and organizational blogs.

These are blogs used for corporate, branding, marketing and public relations purposes. They are the same as group blogs and club blogs which are mainly used to communicate with other members of the group or club. Very useful indeed!

Blog type #3: Genre-type blogs.

Art blogs an music blogs are the most common genre type blogs. These blogs focus on a particular subject such as travel blogs (also known as travelog..), fashion blogs, political blogs, mum blogs…the list could just goes on and on. It all really depends on what you want the blog to focus on. Simple.

Blog type #4: Media-type blogs.

This type of blogs use different media to deliver their contents. A blog that uses videos are called vlog, a blog containing only sketches are called sketchblog, a blog containing only photos are called photoblog, and a blog that uses only links are called linklog. From here we can see that blogs are quite versatile depending on your style and creativity. Sounds like fun!

Blog type #5: Device-type blogs.

This type of blog uses different device to compose the content. A simple example would be the moblog, which is a blog written by a mobile phone. Again….the beauty of modern technology

So….basically, these are my basic understanding of blogging. Very basic I know….but it is a good start if you are totally clueless about blogging, just like I was. This is just to help me understand the concept of blogging really….before I do any further and heavier readings on blogging. So far….so good!

Bimbo meets Blogging World!

Okay….I am very extremely new with this blogging thing, and this is my first ever attempt at creating a blog. And this post would be my very first blog post in my entire life….woot woot!

Honestly…I have never paid much attention to blogging before, I didn’t even bother to read blogs! I mean…I have friends who are actually dedicated bloggers, and many times they have suggested for me to start a blog. Being me….I just dismissed their suggestions. While, a lot of my friends were rushing to enter the world of blogging at almost the same rate with people joining the American Idol,  I didn’t think that a blog was of any use to me….in fact, I didn’t even exactly know what blogging really was!

I still remember the first time I read a blog….yes, for some unknown reasons, I still remember the first time. A couple of years ago, Alin, a close friend of mine who is a blogger was running for the Blog of the Year contest in my homecountry. As a true and loyal friend that I am, I voted for his blog to be the Blog of the Year….this was before I even read his blog! So…out of curiousity, I opened a fresh tab on my browser and for the first time, set my eyes on an actual blog.

I totally enjoyed reading his blog but still….the concept of blogging did not appeal to me what so ever. But thanks to him, I was introduced to the blogging world. So, for the past couple of years….I was slowly getting to know and understand the concept of blogging. Before, I thought of blogging as something so unimportant, some sort of distraction…but now, I find that blogging is very very useful in so many ways. I started to think about creating my own blog.

So….for the past few months, I was reading up on blogs and did some basic research….and also, a lot of pondering. Especially on whether I should create one…and when I should start….and how to start one… and what to write. Basically, there was just a lot of pondering going on for me. I was totally clueless! Then, it just so happened that another one of my close friend, Wena, who was an on-and-off blogger, told me that she just started on a new blog. So, I asked her for some tips on what is the easiest way to start a blog. And she simply said….start from introducing yourself and just share your story, it gets easier every post and its fun!

So….here I am being all smart and fun, writing up my first post. Hopefully, I will learn fast and get used to this blogging stuffs because I am hoping to do this on a regular basis and also, really keep this blog. Okay, I think I have spent enough time on my first post and I think, that is all that I want to share for today. Not bad for my first time eh? I did it and I’m getting all excited. Yeayyyy! First post done!
